I’d to thank John Few for his five and a half years of service as Editor. John has been very helpful and generous with his advice as I have put this edition together. He has also written a lovely short history of Eton Manor for the centenary. Meticulously researched, and with lots of great photos, it comes highly recommended. So if you haven’t already bought your copy, they are £3.00 each from a committee member.
So many thanks to John, and also to Adrian, Dan, Tom, Dave, Trevor, Christina, Zoe and Lance and all of the committee who have helped with race reports, reports on social and centenary events and provided me with information, photos etc. Social events have been a major success so far in this centenary year and we still have the dinner on June 15th to look forward to. Ticket information on page 20. This edition goes to press after the winter Cross Country season is over, the final event being the Physical Shield in Loughton on March 26th. It’s been a snowy, muddy, cold, and very successful season for the club. The women’s team have done really well in the Chingford League, taking second place in both the senior Women’s and Women’s vets competitions. And they took 7th place in the South of England Cross-country championships. The men’s team were victorious in the Physical Shield for the third year running. Well done to all who have raced for the club, and look out for the summer fixture list either in the club house or on the website www.eton-manor.com. There’s lots of information there, such as the names and contacts for the committee, training schedules, results, interesting articles. I hope you enjoy this edition. Remember – it’s your Reporter, so please let me know if you don’t like what you see, tell me what you’d like to see in future editions, and let me have any articles, photos, etc either via facebook
